Organic

Organic farming is a method of crop production that involves much more than choosing not to use pesticides, fertilizers and genetically modified organisms.

Organic production is a holistic system designed to optimize the productivity and fitness of diverse communities within the agro-ecosystem, including soil organisms, plants and people. The principal goal of organic production is to develop a sustainable and harmonious environment.

By dealing directly with growers and controlling the process from sowing to harvest, we can ensure continuous quality checks so that no unwanted chemicals or genetically modified traits can end up in the final product. Therefore emphasizing on careful processing and handling methods, in order to maintain the organic integrity and vital qualities of the product at all stages of production.

Over time, Ceresco has developed highly effective traceability systems to closely monitor each step of the soy production. Abundant crops from Ceresco producers undergo a battery of quality and purity tests before being accepted for processing.

By acquiring certifications of a dozen government and private agencies, Ceresco is able to offer a wide variety of organic soybeans, free of chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides to companies on all continents. In fact, Ceresco provides close to half of all organic soybeans sold for human consumption in the eastern side of Canada.
